RES LAUNCHES A SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMME

Simunye – RES has taken its contribution to the greater good for the environment around us a step further by launching the Sustainability programme themed, “Building a business that will be here tomorrow. Forever. For all.”

The launch was commissioned by Phepsiwe Mweli (RES Head of Strategy and Risk), Nick Jackson (RES MD), our guest speaker, Mr. Ncamiso Ntshalintshali (FSRA CEO), Jabu Myeni (RES Sustainability Manager) as well as members of EXCO and senior management.

In her presentation, Jabu Myeni said, “RES has always believed in sustainability. The difference now is that we plan on making it more co-ordinated by coming up with a sustainability structure.

The MD said that RES’s efforts endeavour to reduce carbon emissions and other materiality issues. As a part of this, a solar plant project has taken off to forge a path on focused efficiencies and cost saving efforts. He further said, “If we don’t practise and comply to sustainability standards, we run the risk of people not buying our product.”

“We look forward to RES adopting this programme as we believe this creates a good image for the business and encourages other entities to follow suit.”, Mr. Ncamiso Ntshalintshali.
