RES DONATES WHEELCHAIR TO KHUPHUKA RIMARY PUPIL

KHUPHUKA – A wheelchair and school uniform left Thokozani Xaba (10) all smiles, courtesy of RES Corporation.

The boy has been struggling to get to school because of his malfunctioning wheelchair, until RES Corporation came to his rescue.

Thokozani’s mother Nomsa Msibi said, “Angati nekutsi ngicale ngitsini, inhlitiyo yami igcwele injabulo ngelengentelwe kona nguRES.” Translated as, “I am speechless and extremely excited by RES’s deed.”

“I would sometimes use a wheelbarrow to transport Thokozani to school because of the state of his previous wheelchair. We are living in poverty and Thokozani’s father is a sickly man. I make ends meet through various part-time jobs within the community,” she said.

The visibly excited Nomsa expressed her gratitude for the donation and highlighted that the school uniform would also come in handy given the harsh winter conditions.

RES also contributed five sugar bags (10 kg) to the school.

Khuphuka Primary School headteacher Zanele Matsebula said, “RES always helps. This is not the first time the Corporation has made such a gesture. Recently RES donated shoes through their employees’ back-to-school initiative. The challenges faced by our school and the community are tougher than meets the eye, thank you RES!”

RES Group Public Affairs Manager Sifiso Nyembe said “RES is a corporate citizen, and we are always looking at diverse ways of contributing to the socio-economic development of the Kingdom of Eswatini. Education, health and entrepreneurship, just to mention a few, are key in developing a brighter future for a nation.”
