SIMUNYE – RES Corporation has officially re-committed the sponsorship of soccer development with an increased amount now at E200 000 per season.
Since 2015, RES has been sponsoring a football development programme dubbed ‘Siyakha 1800’ amounting E180 000 and things changed yesterday when RES MD Nick Jackson announced an increase of the sponsorship by E20 000.
The launch was graced by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth affairs Harris ‘Madze’ Bulunga, RES MD Nick Jackson and Public Affairs Team headed by GPAM Sifison Nyembe, LRFA executives, clubs’ representatives and players.
Bulunga said; “I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to RES for partnering with the Lubombo Regional Football Association for such an initiative whose ripple effects will surely be felt beyond the Lubombo region and by the entire kingdom.”
“One thing that stood out for me when receiving the details of the sponsorship package is its unparallel multi-focused, all-inclusive approach to football development. The sponsorship will cover a grassroots football development programme; U-13 and U-15 leagues for both boys and girls; and the apex leagues in the region. It is rare to find sponsorship deals with such an all-inclusive focus, covering both juniors and seniors’ leagues.”
Bulunga also noted with pride the massive impact this project will have on football development in Eswatini especially because it includes both genders. Boys and Girls.
“Our girls want to play football but so often, they have had to let go of that passion because of the lack of opportunities; opportunities which our boys, on the other hand, have received in abundance. It is pleasing to see the RES Corporation and LRFA partner up to create such an exciting and much needed platform for our girls to play football in a structured and rewarding manner.”
Meanwhile, RES Managing Director Nick Jackson shared the same sentiments in terms of the development of football especially with the focus on both genders.
“Sports development for boys and girls gives them equal opportunities in finding the talent because some of us are given special talents which might not include being academically brilliant. Women empowerment as well is something that the global has a focus on.”
“RES is proud to make dreams come through and actively contribute to the development of Eswatini hence the sponsorship package is now E200 000 instead of the previous E180 000. We always work closely with our communities which is partner of our responsibility as a citizen of the Kingdom,” Jackson said.
Both parties declared the official beginning of the programme with a replica cheque handover.

Several CSI projects have executed through RES Siyakha 1800
SIMUNYE – The impact of the CSI projects of the programme cannot be ignored.
LRFA Chairman Nicodemus Mashwama said; “Highlights of the CSI projects includes painting of a Gogo Centre at Hlane, Fencing of community gardens at Shewula and Nyambo and a clean-up campaign at Mananga Border.”
“Donating food hampers to the needy also formed part of our work under the CSI project though it only caters for needs in a short basis, and it goes without saying that all this made the relevant impact in the communities we supported. This also proves that the programme, through the CSI projects, is taking care of the communities which RES is passionate about especially to his neighbouring communities.”
