EVERYDAY IS WOMEN'S DAY AT RES

Women are the mammoth reservoir of power and talent which has yet not been tapped.

RES Managing Director has showered gifts to every lady working for the sugar company.

In a memo sent to all women in the corporation, Jackson said; “I must state upfront that this has been delayed. Covid-19 came along and disrupted all our plans. Nonetheless, the opportunity to write to you has now presented itself, and it gives me the pleasure to inform you that for RES every day is women’s day.”

Ordinarily Women’s Month is in August, where the entire globe calls its focus on celebrating women.

“You are a precious woman at RES. We truly value that you are part of the team that is driving RES forward. The historic and current role of women in the development of society cannot be disputed,” the sugar company captain added.

Jackson further highlighted that the best way to change the society and the underlying issues is to channelize the power of woman in every walk of life.

“We salute you for the role you play as a lady member of the RES team. Speaking of Covid-19, one is reminded that the pandemic has turned pretty much everything upside down. This has unfortunately intensified the challenges that women already faced, because we all know that women almost work double shift, with their well-documented role at home.”

The ladies were presented with tokens of appreciation which were last week distributed through the Human Resources office.

“I would like to thank and honour you for your resilience and continued dedication as we continue to navigate the difficult waters in the business, marked by fluctuating prices, uncertainty in the markets and the generally rapid changes that we together have to constantly manage,” Jackson said.

Noteworthy, RES has women in various departments of the business; from agriculture to Engineering and administration. Some of this ladies hold high positions in the sugar company with the latest lady joining senior management as Group Human Resources Manager in the middle of the year.

“Given your commitment, I dare say that for every successful company is an army of great ladies determined to succeed.”
