REPS AUTHORITIES GIVE THUMBS-UP TO RES

The Royal Eswatini Police Force (REPS) has expressed satisfaction with cane cutting measures that the RES Corporation has put in place together with the harvesting contractors servicing the business.

Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation Harvesting Operations Manager Leitson Maseko was joined Simunye Police Station, Deputy Station Commander Oscar Motsa as they toured the corporation’s fields in Simunye and Ngomane to ensure that all cane cutting measures are followed and implemented.

This involves adhering to social distancing when transporting cane cutters and the facilities that have been put in place to ensure that cane cutters have access to clean running water and soap to wash their hands regularly.

Maseko said, “The teams working on ensuring that cane cutter transportation, accommodation and sanitation have thus far done a sterling job. We have also noted with great appreciation that Contractors’ are keenly following the set regulations which gives us the consolation that even though the pandemic will not discriminate or spare us, our workforce is equally fighting to ensure that the spread of the virus is curbed.”

The station commander was pleasantly surprised by the company’s immediate efforts that have already been put in place and implemented.

“We all have a role to play in fighting the Corona virus. The company’s efforts of ensuring a safe working environment for employees are outstanding. It is our responsibility as the Police Force to ensure that operating businesses are doing so in full adherence of the Covid-19 regulations to ensure the safety of not only the Cane Cutters but the country as a whole.” Motsa said.
