RES HOSTS BUCKSWOOD COLLEGE


RES has once again welcomed 30 students from the UK-based college as part of the exchange/volunteer outreach tour.



Yesterday, the group of 30 who were also accompanied by their college Principal, Giles Sutton were educated on the operations of the sugar manufacturing corporation – to understand the cane growing process and of course, irrigation and harvesting and a tour of the Mhlume factory.  

This educational tour helps the international students with comprehending the theory of their academics to visualising and understanding the practical operations. Also, it is a fulfils their desire to make a positive impact on the lives of their peer emaSwati as well as to learn more about the beautiful Swazi culture. “This is one of the most important educational tours and an essential destination for our students to come and learn about the Swazi culture and make positive strides towards improving the lives of emaSwati.”, he said.

He further went on to say that they were very excited that, the annual tour has resumed. He said, “The reception received from the company employees is warm and we always look forward to our return trips. Also, over the years, our students have valuable experiences which enhances their learning and appreciation of the different world cultures. This year is even extra special because they also joined the national Sibaya event.”

On another note, the Corporate Social Investment Manager, Phindile Dlamini, on behalf of the company expressed, the importance of the exchange of knowledge gained by the students through this interaction, enhancing their ability of understanding RES on the backdrop of their experience in Eswatini as future world leaders. RES appreciates the value they bring into local communities through this volunteer program, a shared agenda that the corporation is also committed to. “.
