RES GIVES LADIES AND JUNIORS A PLATFORM TO SWING ON THE COURSE

SIMUNYE – RES Corporation has offered ladies and juniors an opportunity to learn golf at Mananga Country Club.

RES Corporation is one of the active companies in sports and corporate golf is no exception. The sugar manufacturer also hosts annual charity golf tournament, to raise funds for the underprivileged.
According to RES Group Public Affairs Manager Sifiso Nyembe: “Golf is a social game that often helps build character and other benefits that extend beyond the golf course. As a company, we have an appreciation of sport and the impact it has on social development. We have noted that over the years the feminine ratio of players locally, presents an opportunity for growth, which is also the case for juniors, hence this platform.”
“Whilst NOMADS sponsors coaching, RES has extended this program by sponsoring monthly mugs hosted by Mananga Country Club, where the learners will be afforded a chance to play with seasoned players in a bid to upskill them.” Golf kits are also provided for beginners within this sponsorship.
The company’s mouthpiece highlighted that the sponsorship amount to a monthly fee of E9 000.00 at present and could potentially increase depending on uptake.
Nyembe added that RES employees and members of the public residing within the sugar company’s estate can now contact Mananga Country Club for registration and enquiries.
“It is all free, register at Mananga Club if you are a lady who wants to learn to swing or have a child from ages 5-18. Popularity in golf as a sport in high schools and colleges has grown in the last several years. This is since many realize the necessity of learning the sport for their future careers.”
Nyembe further urged the target group to register at 2323 2404 or email manangaclub@realnet.co.sz.
Noteworthy, RES has been actively participating in sports development programmes within the Lubombo region and a good example is the SIYAKHA 1800 soccer development project in partnership with Eswatini Football Association (EFA). SIYAKHA 1800 was focusing on developing the youth within the Northern Lubombo region in football.
