RES SETS PUPILS UP FOR SWEET SUCCESS

Spending a week at RES proved to be not only sweet for pupils who were attached for their job shadowing exercise in the sugar company, but could shape the future.

The programme, facilitated by Junior Achievement Eswatini, continues to enlighten the future of these aspiring professionals.
The pupils were from Lusoti, Ngomane and Mhlume High Schools. The aforementioned schools are all listed under the RES aided government schools.
Nozuzo Sikhosana from Lusoti High School, disclosed that she aspired to be an engineer although she had never been exposed to the engineering field.
“Before I came for the job shadowing exercise, I had a dream to be engineer but I did not know what it meant being an engineer. I would like to thank RES and JA for the opportunity they have given us because not all of us have availed this opportunity. We have learnt a lot from this program and it will surely add great value to our future careers.”
The eloquent pupils also thanked RES for the hospitality they received during their field experience at the sugar company.
Kekana articulated that the challenge that lay in schools was that pupils do not have any idea of what the careers they aspire entail and that becomes a task in their future.
Meanwhile, Lindani Dube from Mhlume High School thanked RES for the exciting experience they had during the job shadowing programme.
“During the programme, I was driven by my goal setting aspect and I ensured that they were accomplished. I hope a lot of pupils in schools nationwide should seek to get such opportunities because they truly inform about our future career choices and it is through this programme where one get to know if he/she has chosen the ideal career path,” Dube said.
RES Learning and Talent Manager Sethembile Shiba said; “We welcome the opportunity to partner with JA to inspire and build a future for the aspiring professionals in any way possible. We are excited to be included in the programme by JA and look forward to a strengthened relationship.”
JA Executive Director Siboniso Madlopha thanked RES for giving the children an opportunity to execute the Job Shadowing programme in the sugar company.
“My children, at your age, the decisions you make today will impact in your future. I hope you will have a better understanding of the exact careers you want to follow or study.”
Madlopha further thanked RES management, especially the Managing Director Nick Jackson for his continued support towards youth of the Kingdom of Eswatini.
“Jackson supports numerous programs for youth development. RES has the Youth Entrepreneurship Support programme, JA in-school programmes and other youth development initiatives,” Madlopha said.
