RES'S THEMBELISHA LEADS BY EXAMPLE IN KEEPING ESWATINI CLEAN

‘When the environment is clean, everyone feels happy, motivated and healthy.’
Two months ago, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini launched a clean-up campaign dubbed ‘Clean Eswatini’.

RES’s Thembelisha School has followed the footsteps of the sugar company by joining hands with the government in ensuring that the Kingdom of Eswatini is kept clean and hygienic.
The season of spring is here! Spring is full of transformations. The temperature rises, the leaves return to the trees and the flowers are now blossoming. It is a positive season of new beginnings, new habits and a new start to the last term of school.
Thembelisha Preparatory School, the RES School, decide once again to transform the environment for spring by picking up litter along the Simunye - Hlane road last Thursday September 12, 2019.
Thembelisha Principal, Gina Marucchi said; “The Grade Fours and Fives have learnt about the harm plastics do to the environment, and embraced this significant undertaking with enthusiasm.”
“Equipped with latex gloves, water and big refuse bags these environmental warriors, and their teachers, removed every bit of litter for a four kilometer stretch, on both sides of the road and filled 42 refuse bags.”
The principal further expressed her gratitude the Royal Eswatini Police Service from the Simunye station for their assistance in ensuring that the pupils were safe during the clean-up exercise.
Subsequently, RES Group Public Affairs Manager Sifiso Nyembe said; “Thembelisha is one of the institutions we trust will ensure that the future leaders of this country are groomed to understand better the impact of not taking care of the environment. To leave the world better than we found it, sometimes we have to pick up other people’s trash. As a company we instill these values in the children at a tender age.”
Nyembe added that RES’s business is green by virtue of growing a green crop that fixes oxygen into the atmosphere, which helps to mitigate air pollution.
“We are proud to be part of such initiatives which seeks to improve our environment, which positively impact neighbouring communities and the entire nation as well.”
