226 RSSC DRIVERS, RIDERS GET DEFENSIVE DRIVING LESSONS TO FORTIFY SAFETY


RSSC continues to ensure safety and development of all employees by equipping vehicle and motorbike drivers with defensive driving lessons.



In an effort to promote safe driving habits for RSSC drivers, the company I conjunction with the Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS) scheduled defensive training sessions for RSSC drivers. Attendees had to undergo theory and practical learning lessons conducted by REPS officials, as prevention of fatalities at RSSC remains the top priority for the organization. According to RSSC Training Officer under the Human Resources Division, Bhekisisa Dlamini, the objective of the training is to provide all drivers in the company with appropriate defensive driving skills for safety purposes. “We also aim to reduce the overall operational cost in supporting the company’s Simama 20-20 strategy and increase operational effeciencies in doing so.” “Special thanks goes to the National Commissioner of Police who accepted RSSC’s request for assistance in providing an effective driving training for 2018/19 season and providing facilitators from the Royal Eswatini Police Services; Seargent Mavimbela, Seargent Magagula, Seargent Mtsetfwa and Constable Maphalala,” Dlamini said.
Meanwhile, Seargent Mtsetfwa noted with pride that the drivers and riders have been taking the training very seriously and he is positive that after the training programme, all motorbike riders at RSSC will be well equipped and confident behind the wheel. “I am certain that there will be drastic changes after the training programme and this was noted within a few hours of training,” Mtsetfwa said.
An in depth assessment for all reported accidents for the previous financial year are conducted by RSS for purposes of providing meaningful solutions to mitigate future occurrences. RSSC’s mouth piece Group Public Affairs Manager expressed the company’s gratitude to the National Commissioner Isaac Magagula for the continued support and assistance in ensuring that the company’s safety obligations are met. “Even in 2017/18 financial year, the same assistance from the National Commissioner was granted to RSSC at no costs and we are grateful for that. Such work collaborations are much appreciated and important for future engagements,” Nyembe said.
